Investigation Of "Let The Game Begin Again" Project Results And Staekholder's Opinions

The main purpose of this project is to help children, who are faced with the reality of an earthquake during a global epidemic, to understand, convey and interpret the negativities experienced by using educational drama techniques. The research question was structured as follows: “What are the opinions of the stakeholders regarding the experiences within the scope of the Let the Game Begin Again Project and the affective products of the applications?”

Mixed method including both qualitative and quantitative data was used in the research. Quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was applied in quantitative dimension. In the project, an eight-week program was carried out for children aged 7-12. In the online activities, educational drama method was used in subjects such as meeting a new person, trust, attention and concentration, emotion and resource development, and communication. Findings show that children are comfortable and enjoy the learning environment. Considering the developmental stages of children, the data obtained show that the studies contribute to the emotional, social and academic development of children. Considering these findings, the following can be said; With the activities carried out within the scope of the project, significant gains have been achieved for the participants and a training program has been developed and presented to support children in case of possible disasters in the future.

Abstract

For children aged 7-12, an eight-week curriculum was implemented in the program. In the activities carried out online, the educational drama method was used for the subjects such as meeting someone new, trust, attention and concentration, emotion and resource development, and communication.

Findings indicate that children are comfortable and enjoy the learning environment. Considering the developmental stages of children, the data obtained indicate that the studies contribute to their emotional, social, and academic development. Considering these findings, following can be stated; important gains have been achieved for the participants with the studies carried out within the scope of the project, and an education program that can support children in possible future disaster situations has been further developed.
